Palestine Red Crescent says 29 employees killed in Gaza since Oct 7

Jerusalem, May 23 (UNI) The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said on Thursday that 29 of its staffers have been killed since the start of the escalation of the conflict in Gaza, including 17 who were targeted while performing their humanitarian duties.
"The Palestine Red Crescent Society mourns the loss of mental health volunteer Najm Tabassi, who was killed along with his wife due to the bombing of their home in Rafah by the occupation forces [the Israeli military forces]. This brings the total number of PRCS martyrs in the Gaza Strip since October 7 to 29, 17 of whom were targeted by the occupation while performing their humanitarian duties," the PRCS wrote on X.
Earlier in May, the UN special papporteur on the right to health, Tlaleng Mofokeng, said that at least 492 Palestinian health workers had been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of hostilities on October 7, with 80% of primary health care centres no longer operating.
