Panchkula police seize narcotics worth over ₹4 cr, arrest 11 drug traffickers in 10 days under 'Maidan 2.0' campaign

Panchkula, June 9 (UNI) Panchkula Police have intensified their fight against drug trafficking under the special ‘Maidan 2.0’ campaign launched by Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain, arresting 11 drug traffickers in 10 separate cases and seizing narcotic substances valued at more than ₹4 crore during the last ten days.
The campaign, aimed at making Panchkula a drug-free district, goes beyond conventional law-enforcement measures by targeting entire drug networks, strengthening surveillance mechanisms through modern technology and facilitating rehabilitation of individuals affected by substance abuse.
Providing details of the operation, DCP Crime and Traffic Amrinder Singh said police teams recovered 1.946 kg of heroin, 7.224 kg of opium and 215 grams of charas from the arrested accused during raids conducted across different parts of the district. Cases have been registered under the NDPS Act and investigations are underway to trace suppliers, financial links and other members of the trafficking network.
