Parnaik advocates enhanced cooperation between Arunachal and Sikkim

Itanagar, Jan 13 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) KT Parnaik, during his two-day official visit to Sikkim, underscored the importance of deeper cooperation between the two Northeastern states, saying it could yield mutual benefits in areas such as sustainable tourism, eco-friendly infrastructure, environmental conservation, skill development, and promotion of local products.
The Governor made these remarks while meeting his Sikkim counterpart Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan in Gangtok on Monday. The two Governors exchanged New Year greetings and conveyed their warm wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity for the people of both Himalayan states.
Highlighting the shared strengths and common aspirations of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, Governor Parnaik observed that as India’s first fully organic state and a fast-growing tourism destination, Sikkim offers valuable lessons, while Arunachal Pradesh possesses vast untapped potential.

Agartala, Feb 10 (UNI) union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to visit Tripura on February 20, ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections scheduled for April.
Shah’s visit is considered crucial as the ruling BJP and TIPRA Motha are in loggerheads over dominance of power in the ADC area, where leaders of both parties have indicated to fight the election separately, which appeared to be most inconvenient for the BJP in the tribal areas.
