Piramal finance registers Rs 5200 Cr loan portfolio in Telangana

Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) Piramal Finance, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), today said that its loan portfolio in Telangana stands over Rs 5,200 crore with strong demand for home loans, loans against property, business loans and unsecured business loans.
Most borrowers in Telangana avail loans in the range of ₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh, the company said in a release here.
The company’s approach focuses on understanding a customer’s business operations and family income rather than relying solely on CIBIL scores.
AI-driven tools in the approval process, has helped the company maintain non-performing loans below 1 per cent of its total loan portfolio.
Telangana remains one of Piramal Finance’s top five markets, with more than 44,000 customers, a network of 29 branches across 23 cities, and growing demand from both Telugu states.
The company plans to expand its retail branch footprint in the region in the coming months.
Speaking on the company’s growth in the state, Jagdeep Mallareddy, Chief Business Officer, Piramal Finance, said, “Telangana continues to deliver strong growth for our retail business. Our approach is simple—spend time on the ground with customers, understand their needs, and provide solutions that work for them. This has helped us build long-term relationships and maintain asset quality at industry-leading levels.”
Arvind Iyer, Head of Marketing, Piramal Finance, said that our target customers are mainly Self employed and SMEs.
The company’s growth was 30 per cent every year and this fiscal also expecting the same growth, he said that we are planning to expand our branches to 1000 by the next 2-3 years agaist 517 branches operating nationally.
Nationally, the company branches across 13,000 pin codes, serving more than 4.2 million customers, with 80 per cent of its business coming from metro-adjacent, Tier 2, and Tier 3 locations, he added.
