Plane with Holy fire leaves Tel Aviv for Moscow

Tel Aviv, Apr 19 (UNI) A plane with the Holy Fire on board on Saturday took off from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv to Moscow, a Sputnik correspondent reported.
The descent of the Holy Fire occurs on the eve of the feast of the Resurrection of Christ according to the Julian calendar. In 2025, Christians will celebrate Easter on April 20, its date will coincide for the Western and Eastern branches of Christianity. The fire appears in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, which was erected over the area where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected.
The Holy Fire will be delivered to cities in Russia’s border regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and dozens of others. In Moscow, it will be delivered to the Easter service in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, and will also be transferred to 15 other churches.
