PM Modi, Guv, CM extend Statehood Day greetings to people of Manipur

Imphal, Jan 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor AB Bhalla, Chief Minister N Biren extended Statehood Day greetings to the people of Manipur on Tuesday.
PM Modi said in a message, "Greetings to the people of Manipur on their Statehood Day. We are incredibly proud of the role played by the people of Manipur towards India’s development. My best wishes for the progress of Manipur."
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla also conveyed best wishes and warm greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 53rd Statehood Day, 2025.
In a message, the Governor said that Manipur became a full-fledged State of the Indian Union on January 21, 1972 and has been making rapid progress in different fields of development since then.
He stressed on the need to sustain this pace to march in tandem with the rest of the country and the pursuit of welfare measures more vigorously based on equity where all citizens of the State irrespective of caste, creed or religion feel the sense of belonging to an egalitarian society.
He also urged people to come together to make Manipur a peaceful and prosperous State.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Speaker Th Satyabrata, ministers also greeted the people on the occasion.
Manipur an Asiatic power became a part of India on 15 Oct 1949. After an intense struggle Statehood was granted to Manipur alongwith Tripura a princely state and Meghalaya which was part of Assam on 21 Jan 1972.
