PM Modi honors Thiruvalluvar, urges reading of Tirukkural

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid homage to revered Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar on the occasion of Thiruvalluvar Day, describing him as a timeless symbol of compassion, harmony, and the finest traditions of Tamil culture.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said Thiruvalluvar’s works and ideals continue to inspire countless people across generations. He noted that the ancient scholar envisioned a society rooted in harmony and empathy, values that remain deeply relevant in contemporary times.
“He believed in a society that is harmonious and compassionate. He personifies the best of Tamil culture,” the Prime Minister wrote, while urging people to read the Tirukkural to appreciate the exceptional intellectual depth of Thiruvalluvar.
