PM Modi pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his 156th birth anniversary

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, marking the 156th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.
Recalling Gandhiji’s enduring message of truth, non-violence, and moral courage, Modi said the Mahatma’s ideals continued to inspire not only India but the world at large.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding these values in building an inclusive and developed nation.
“Gandhi Jayanti is about paying homage to the extraordinary life of beloved Bapu, whose ideals transformed the course of human history,” the Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform X.
“He demonstrated how courage and simplicity could become instruments of great change. He believed in the power of service and compassion as essential means of empowering people. We will keep following his path in our quest to build a Viksit Bharat (developed India),” Modi added.
The nation is observing the day with commemorative events and tributes across the country, honouring Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy as a global icon of peace and non-violent resistance.

Two fresh arrests in NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case; CBI probe reveals ₹10-12 lakh deal for every leaked paper

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested two more accused for their alleged involvement in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, taking the total number of arrests to seven.
The accused have been identified as Dhananjay Lokhanda from Ahilyanagar and Manisha Waghmare. The federal probe agency also conducted searches at 14 locations across the country in the last 24 hours.
