PM's Manipur visit an election stunt, timed with upcoming polls: JMM's Supriyo Bhattacharya

Ranchi, Sep 14 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) central general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya today launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent visit to Manipur, terming it delayed and politically motivated.
Addressing a press conference at the JMM office here, Bhattacharya noted that Manipur has been one of the most disturbed states in the North-East over the last two years, witnessing ethnic clashes between the Kuki and Meitei communities.
According to him, nearly 960 people have lost their lives, thousands have been injured, and over 10,000 homes have been burnt. “This is the biggest instance of ethnic violence in the country, and the role of the BJP’s communal and political policies is evident,” he alleged.
