Poland's screen slate expands with detective comedy of 'The Doll' adaptation

Warsaw, Jan 20 (UNI) Poland's expanding screen landscape is set to welcome an ambitious new line-up of productions, with a female-led detective comedy and the first visual reveal of an adaptation of "The Doll" taking centre stage.
Leading the announcements is "Revenge" a comedy feature built around all-women detective agency that investigates romantic betrayals. The film stars Vanessa Aleksander and Izabela Kuna, the comedy is about a detective agency for women accusing their partners of betrayal.
In Poland, which is one of Netflix’s highest priority European nations and one in which it has a base, the streamer has also published a first-look image of its series adaptation of Bolesław Prus’ Polish classic The Doll, which features Sandra Drzymalska and Tomasz Schuchardt entangled in a complicated and tense story against the backdrop of 19th century Warsaw, reports DEADLINE.
The Doll is one of a number of previously-announced Netflix Poland projects championed today in Warsaw including Lead Children, which follows a determined doctor (Joanna Kulig) attempting a heroic fight against a lead poisoning epidemic. That one was today revealed to be launching February 11.
