Police constable kills 3-year-old daughter, critically injures wife in Banda

Banda, Jan 15 (UNI) A shocking incident of domestic violence came to light in Banda district, where a police constable allegedly attacked his wife and three-year-old daughter with an axe, killing the child and leaving the wife critically injured.
The accused constable fled the scene after the attack, and his mobile phone was later found near a river, raising fears that he may have jumped into the water, police said on Thursday.
According to police, the incident took place in the Marka Kotwali area, around 70 kilometers from the district headquarters. The accused has been identified as Gaurav Kumar Yadav (35), a constable posted as a driver with UP 112 and currently stationed at Marka Kotwali. Originally from Farrukhabad, Yadav had been living in a rented house just 250 meters from the police station along with his wife Shivani (32) and their only daughter Pari (3).
