Police station attacked in Araria after custodial death of youth and sister-in-law

Araria, Bihar, May 17 (UNI) Locals turned violent, pelted stones, and also torched vehicles in the premises of the Tarabari police station area in the Araria district of Bihar on Friday after they learned about the death of a youth and his sister-in-law in police custody late last night.
Police said that a youth Mithu Singh had kidnapped his minor sister-in-law Chandani Kumari a few days back and kept her as his wife in his house in Tarona village of Tarabari police station area. Based on complaint filed by his wife, the youth and sister-in-law were arrested from Tarona village and kept in lock-up, police added.
Both youth and his sister-in-law-in-law died under mysterious circumstances in custody but police claimed that both had committed suicide last night. As locals learned about the incident, they started pelting stones at the police station and also torched vehicles on its premises, alleging that both died due to merciless beating in lock-up.
