Policybazaar showcases claim successes at ‘Insurance Ka Superhero’ event held in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Dec 5 (UNI) Policybazaar today hosted the fourth edition of its flagship initiative “Insurance Ka Superhero” in city, reaffirming its commitment to fair, transparent and compassionate claim settlements.
The event brought together customers, insurer partners, senior leadership and media to highlight how timely intervention can transform claim experiences for families during their most vulnerable moments.
The gathering showcased multiple real-life cases where rejected or delayed insurance claims were successfully approved through Policybazaar’s intervention.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarbvir Singh, Joint Group CEO of PB Fintech, said insurance in India remains vastly underutilised despite its ability to shield families from sudden financial distress.
“The biggest challenge is that people believe they can postpone buying insurance. Events like this remind us that unexpected moments can change everything,” he said.
Singh said that Policybazaar, which today serves nearly 30 lakh health insurance customers, has built a nationwide support system with 500 dedicated claims specialists to assist policyholders at hospitals, manage documentation and liaise with insurer partners.
He emphasised that the company’s role does not end at selling a policy. “We believe our responsibility truly begins when a customer needs to make a claim,” he added, noting that the company also conducts joint grievance-resolution sessions involving customers and insurers to clear misunderstandings and ensure rightful payouts.
Rajiv Gupta, President of PB Fintech, said claim settlement is at the heart of customer trust. “Claims are not transactions — they are lifelines,” he said, adding that Policybazaar facilitated over Rs 1,000 crore in claim settlements last year alone. He praised the teams working round-the- clock to support families, saying, “Success in insurance is judged by one question — when someone needed help, did we show up?”
He noted that the company is also expanding its long-term healthcare vision, including early plans to develop a network of hospitals across India over the next few years, to provide seamless care bundled with insurance.
Jitin Jain, Head of Health Insurance Renewals, said transparent claim handling and handholding create confidence in a sector often perceived as complex. “We ensure that no genuine claim gets stuck or rejected unfairly. Human touch matters, especially when a family is under stress,” he said.
The event also featured moving testimonials.
Murali, whose father underwent over 30 hospitalisations for Stage 4 cancer, recounted how Policybazaar resolved a rejected claim and secured approvals amounting to more than Rs 1.2 crore, covering extensive immunotherapy sessions.
Marella Srinivasa Rao shared how swift late-night guidance from the company helped him access timely funds for an urgent cardiac procedure worth nearly Rs 6 lakh, ensuring a smooth discharge during a critical period.
Policybazaar leaders said these stories highlight the broader purpose of the initiative: spreading awareness about the importance of insurance, encouraging timely enrolment, and reassuring the public that claim support systems do exist.
The company reaffirmed that “Insurance Ka Superhero” will continue travelling across India to build trust, share real customer experiences and drive higher insurance adoption at a time when millions remain uninsured.
