Priyank Kharge seeks ban on govt staff attending RSS events

Bengaluru, Oct 16 (UNI) Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to issue a circular prohibiting government employees from attending programmes organised by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or similar organisations.
In a letter dated October 13, Kharge reiterated his earlier request that permission should not be granted to the RSS to hold its events on government premises or public spaces.
The minister said that several state government employees were reportedly participating in activities organised by the RSS and other groups, which, he stated, violated provisions of the Karnataka Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 2021.
