Proposed NLI gets support from Sikkim CM: Delhi Assembly

New Delhi, Apr 17 (UNI) Delhi Assembly on Friday informed that Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has written a letter to Speaker Vijender Gupta, and has extended support to the proposed National Legislative Index (NLI), which is an initiative aimed at benchmarking performance of the state legislatures across the country.
In his letter to the Delhi Assembly Speaker, the Sikkim CM appreciated the vision behind the initiative and congratulated the Delhi Vidhan Sabha for taking a forward-looking step towards strengthening legislative institutions.
Meanwhile, the National Legislative Index (NLI) is a structured, comparative framework for assessing legislative performance across states on parameters such as sittings, working hours, debate productivity, and committee effectiveness, thereby promoting transparency, self-assessment, the adoption of best practices, and healthy competition among legislatures.
