Punjabi actress receives Rs10 crore extortion call

Mumbai, Feb 14 (UNI) Punjabi film actress Himanshi Khurana has allegedly received a threatening telephone call demanding Rs 10 crore, with the caller said to be gangster Zeeshan Akhtar. The incident came to light in Mumbai on Saturday, raising concerns within the film industry and prompting a police inquiry.
According to sources, the caller demanded Rs 10 crore from the actress as extortion money.
Zeeshan Akhtar’s name has reportedly surfaced earlier as a wanted accused in the murder case of Baba Siddique. Investigators are examining whether the alleged threat is linked to ongoing criminal rivalries.
Himanshi Khurana is known for her lead role in the Punjabi film 'Sadda Haq', which brought her significant recognition in the film industry. Sources associated with the investigation have indicated that Zeeshan Akhtar is presently believed to be associated with a rival group of Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara. This group is said to be opposed to the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi.
Police are conducting a detailed probe into the alleged threatening call, focusing on the extortion angle and examining possible gang affiliations. Further inquiries are in progress to verify the source of the call and establish any criminal links connected to the case.
