Rahul Gandhi champions education and innovation during South America tour

New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) On a recent tour across South America, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, underscored the transformative power of education in shaping a nation’s future. Engaging with students, artists, and political leaders in Peru and Chile, Gandhi articulated a vision for education that is inclusive, high-quality, and rooted in critical thinking.
“I’ve always believed that education is the foundation of freedom; it cannot be a privilege reserved for a few,” Gandhi said. “India needs education that nurtures a scientific temper, encourages critical thinking, and embraces the rich diversity of our people.”
Gandhi’s diplomatic mission aimed to strengthen India’s political, commercial, and cultural ties with South American countries. He met with Colombia’s Senate President and inaugurated a parliamentary friendship group with Peru to foster closer cooperation. Reflecting on his journey, the Indian Overseas Congress shared on X: “From Colombia’s vibrant comunas and the University of Medellin’s classrooms to heartfelt dialogues with students in Lima, this trip has been a tapestry of warmth, joy, and inspired ideas.”
