Renowned Malayalam literary critic, cultural icon Prof MK Sanu passes away

Kochi, Aug 2 (UNI) Renowned Malayalam literary critic and cultural icon Professor M.K. Sanu, affectionately known as Sanu Mash, passed away at a private hospital at 5.35 pm on Saturday.
He was 98. He is survived by his children, M.S. Ranjith (Retired Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer, Cochin Port Trust), M.S. Rekha, Dr. M.S. Geetha (Retired Head of the Hindi Department, St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery), M.S. Seetha (Retired Officer, Department of Social Welfare), and M.S. Harris (Manager, Energy Management Services, Dubai). His wife, N. Ratnamma, had predeceased him.
Sanu Mash had been hospitalized following a hip fracture sustained in a fall at his residence on July 25. After undergoing surgery, he developed respiratory complications and was moved to the Intensive Care Unit, where he was treated for pneumonia.
