RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to visit Jain ‘Kumbh Mela’ at Namokar Tirth today

Nashik, Feb 10 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will attend the International Panchkalyanak and Mahamastakabhishek festival at the Namokar pilgrimage site in Malsane village of Chandwad taluka on Tuesday.
He will inaugurate the Panchparmeshti Mandapam and address the gathering on the occasion.
The Jain pilgrimage site of Namokar Tirth is located on 40 acres of land near Malsane village on the Nashik-Dhule highway. This festival, which began on February 6 at the Namokar pilgrimage site, will continue until February 25.
Three thousand idols are being consecrated at this site, and it is estimated that 300 to 400 Jain monks and 10 to 12 lakh devotees will participate in the festival. This ceremony is being called the Kumbh Mela of the Jain community. Many prominent leaders are participating in the festival. On Sunday, a program was held in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Education Minister Dada Bhuse, and MP Praful Patel were also present on the occasion. Chief Minister Fadnavis had stated that the Panchkalyanak festival is not just a religious ritual, but a symbol of the country's ancient, spiritual traditions, peace, compassion, and a celebration of spiritual practice.
He expressed the sentiment that the message of non-violence, peace, and compassion given by the Tirthankaras is not only guiding for the Jain community but for all of humanity.
The organisers have also invited President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union Home Minister Amit Shah, and union Minister Nitin Gadkari to the festival.
After Chief Minister Fadnavis, a program will now be held in the presence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. A special religious program has been organised on Tuesday afternoon, including the inauguration of the Panchparmeshti Mandapam and a visit to the Samavasaran temple
The government had recently approved a plan of Rs 36 crore for the development of this pilgrimage site. The facilities at Namokar Tirth include boating (water circumambulation), three helipads for VIPs, parking, strengthening of the power supply system, a concrete road, and a protective wall. PWD Chief Engineer Prashant Auti, Superintending Engineer Arundhati Sharma, and Executive Engineer Rahul Patil have also deployed sanitation, water supply, and health teams.
