Sagar cements partners with Sow & Reap Chara to generate 1 million carbon credits

Hyderabad, Jan 21 (UNI) Sagar Cements Limited on Wednesday announced a landmark sustainability initiative in partnership with Sow & Reap Chara, aimed at generating close to one million carbon credits over the next five years through advanced biomass gasification technology.
Commenting on the project, S Sreekanth Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Sagar Cements Limited, said, “By integrating Sow & Reap Chara’s innovative gasification technology, we are supporting advanced methods to reduce our carbon footprint while delivering long-term benefits to society at large.”
The project brings together a strong consortium of stakeholders. Ankur Scientific serves as the technology provider for the gasification process, while Cula Tech, a Germany-based digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) provider, ensures transparent and accurate carbon accounting. Puro.earth acts as the carbon registry for the project.

Chennai, Feb 17 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu today presented the Interim Budget for 2026-27
with a revenue deficit of Rs. 48,696.32 crore in the state assembly
Since the state is all set to face the assembly elections in two months, the DMK government presented the Interim Budget
and the full budget would be presented after the next government assume office.
