Sangli: 14-year-old boy shot dead over extortion dispute

Sangli, Jun 11 (UNI) In a shocking incident, a 14 year-old boy, grandson of a labour leader, was shot in the head over an extortion dispute by unidentified criminals in the Abhaynagar area of the city this evening.
According to police, the deceased boy was identified as Vendant Bandgar, whose grandfather Balu Bandagar is a labour leader.
Unidentified criminals from Sangli had demanded extortion money from Balu and his associate Thorat by forcibly entering Thorat's house in Jat, and had tried to attack both men, which failed.

3,000 gas cylinders get washed away in Patalganga river in Raigad district

Kolhapur/Raigad, Jul 9 (UNI) In a shocking incident, as many as 3,000 gas cylinders from Hindustan Petroleum were washed away into the Patalganga river in Raigad district, due to the strong flow of water.
The Hindustan Petroleum LPG bottling plant located in the MIDC area of Chavane in Panvel taluka was badly affected by the floods.
