Satara district judge sentences two men to 20 years' rigorous imprisonment for ganja smuggling

Satara, Jul 21 (UNI) Satara district and sessions court judge S R Tamboli(II) today sentenced two men to 20 years' of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh each for smuggling and selling 68.100 kg of ganja.
The two men are Laxman Ankush Jadhav (32) and Shankar Vilas Jadhav (36, both residents of Palashi, Taluka Khatav, District Satara).
Based on confidential information received by the then Assistant Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh, Satara City Police had taken action on February 7, 2019 and arrested them in a case of ganja smuggling. Ganja weighing 68.100 kg, a motorcycle, a car, two mobiles and cash, totaling Rs 7 lakh 3 thousand 480, were seized from their possession.
