SC dismisses pleas challenging renaming of Aurangabad & Osmanabad dists

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday rejected all the public interest litigations and writ petitions pertaining to Bombay High Court’s decision of renaming Aurangabad and Osmanabad ,districts of Maharashtra to Chatrapati Sambhaji nagar and Dharasiv.

The Division Bench of Justices Hrikesh Roy and SVN Bhatti called the Bombay High Court’s “seasoned” and added,state followed all the legal provisions in changing the names of the Districts.The court also expressed it’s displeasure at the petitioners and their counsels absence during the hearing.
