SC rejects Maha Anti-Name Change Action Committee's plea challenging Bombay HC's ruling on Aurangabad name change

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aug 10 (UNI) The Supreme Court has rejected a petition filed by Mushtaq Ahmed on behalf of Maharashtra Anti-Name Change Action Committee challenging the Bombay High Court's order on the change of name of Aurangabad.
After the Maharashtra government renamed Aurangabad as Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahmed had filed a petition challenging the Bombay high court's ruling in Supreme Court.
During the hearing on Friday, the apex court observed that this being such a sensitive issue, it should have expressed its opinion through video conferencing and rejected the petition.
