Security agencies on alert near border following unrest in Nepal: DIG

Balrampur (UP), Sep 8 (UNI) In the wake of the widespread unrest in Nepal, the vigilance by border security agencies has been beefed up along the Indo-Nepal border of Devipatan division, a senior police officer said today.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Devipatan range Amit Pathak said that there are a total of 243 open borders, including 98.5 km of Bahraich, 51 km of Shravasti and 94.5 km of Balrampur district.
"These mainly include inaccessible paths, footpaths and non-traditional paths along with roads of Sohelwa forest area spread over 452 square kilometres. Apart from this, Balrampur-Badhni, Balrampur-Koylabasa road passes through five police station areas including Gasdi, Jarwa, Lalia, Tulsipur and Hariya in the district parallel to the Nepal border, while trains also operate to railway stations adjacent to Nepal on Anandnagar-Badhni, Gonda-Badhni railway blocks," he said.
