SERP, Veterinary University sign MoU to boost rural women’s livelihoods

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) In a major step towards strengthening livestock-based livelihoods and the economic empowerment of rural women, the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and P V Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Hyderabad on Monday.
The agreement, signed at B R K R Bhavan, aims to provide technical guidance and training to women belonging to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in dairy farming, sheep and goat rearing, and backyard poultry activities.
Officials said the initiative was launched to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for poor rural families and enhance women’s income through skill development and self-employment. Financial assistance through bank linkages, revolving funds, subsidies, and Community Investment Funds (CIF) would also be extended, particularly to SC, ST, and minority communities.
