SG Pipers win Women’s Hockey India League 2025-26, pip Bengal Tigers in penalties

Ranchi, Jan 10(UNI): SG Pipers on Saturday defeated Shrachi Bengal Tigers in penalties to win the Women’s Hockey India League 2025-26 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Stadium.
The two teams went to tie breaker to decide the title after they were locked 1-1 in regulation time.
Pipers' Spanish defender Lola Riera’s converted the all important penalty to ensure a title win for the team that had ended last on the standings table. Pipers won the penalties 3-2.
