Shashi Tharoor rejects Veer Savarkar Award, calls organisers irresponsible

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 10 (UNI) Congress MP Shashi Tharoor today strongly rejected the Veer Savarkar International Impact Award 2025, stating that he had never been informed about the honour announced by the Highrange Rural Development Society (HRDS India).
The NGO had earlier included Tharoor among six personalities selected for the inaugural award ceremony in New Delhi, reportedly in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Tharoor said he learned of the announcement only through media reports while he was in Kerala to cast his vote in the local body elections.
