Shimla traffic worsens as Shoghi–Mehli route partially closes

Shimla, Oct 17 (UNI) Vehicular traffic in the state capital continues to crawl as extensive repair, metalling and tarring work is underway on rain-damaged roads across the town.
The situation has led to prolonged and unending traffic jams, prompting authorities to issue fresh travel advisories. Commuters have been urged to use alternative outer bypass routes while heading towards Shimla to avoid congestion.
In a recent order, District Magistrate Anupam Kashyap announced that the Shoghi–Mehli road will remain partially closed for one month to facilitate road-cutting and maintenance work.
