Shivajinagar Metro station may be renamed St Mary

Bengaluru, Sept 11 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today indicated that the Shivajinagar Metro station in Bengaluru may be renamed after St Mary, sparking a political debate across Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The announcement was made during his speech at the annual feast of St Mary Basilica, where Siddaramaiah assured Archbishop Peter Machado that the government would “positively consider” the request.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar supported the move, stating that responding to community requests is routine.
