Sikh history included in Haryana Class 8 curriculum

Chandigarh, Jun 11 (UNI) The Haryana government has introduced chapters on Sikh Gurus and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in the Class 8 history curriculum, fulfilling a commitment made by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during the 350th martyrdom anniversary observance of Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Announcing the development, Saini said the decision was aimed at familiarising younger generations with the teachings, sacrifices and contributions of Sikh Gurus and Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. He noted that the promise was made during the commemorative events held in honour of Guru Tegh Bahadur and has now been implemented through the state’s education system.
The Chief Minister said the teachings of Sikh Gurus, from Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, continue to inspire humanity with messages of equality, compassion, service, brotherhood and social justice. He said their ideals remain relevant in contemporary society as they promote harmony, ethical values and national unity.

Cyber fraud crackdown: Faridabad arrests six in three cases; Panchkula acts against suspects in crypto and investment scams

Panchkula, July 18 (UNI) Police in Faridabad and Panchkula have reported arrests in separate cyber-fraud cases involving alleged loan scams, hacked phones, malicious APK files, fake cryptocurrency platforms and fraudulent investment applications.
In Faridabad, the Cyber Crime Police Station, Ballabgarh, arrested six people in three cases, police said. Two men - Navneet Kumar Singh and Nitesh Kumar - were arrested in a case in which a Sector 11 resident was allegedly cheated of Rs 4.45 lakh on the pretext of arranging a bank loan.

Four held within 24 hours in Panchkula stabbing death; police cite two-year-old dispute as motive

Panchkula, July 18 (UNI) Panchkula Police have arrested four men within 24 hours in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old youth and injuries to his two friends in the Mansa Devi area, officials said on Saturday.
Police said the alleged attack stemmed from a dispute that began around two years ago over a comment related to body building by consuming protein powder.

Chandigarh, Jul 18 (UNI) In a major push towards strengthening Haryana's green cover, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday directed the Forest Department to ensure that every tree planted in the state is geo-tagged, digitally monitored and assigned a designated authority responsible for its upkeep.
