Hyderabad, Oct 14 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Telangana State Committee todayannounced a “Chalo Raj Bhavan” programme on October 17, demanding the Central government immediately approve and implement 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in the southern state.
The party has also urged that a law be brought in Parliament and the reservations be included in the Ninth Schedule to ensure constitutional protection.
In a statement, CPI(M) State Secretary John Wesley criticised the BJP government at the Centre for blocking the implementation of BC reservations in Telangana, despite the state assembly passing the BC Reservation Bill unanimously following a caste census.
