SP always opposed democracy, Akhilesh now aligning with those who imposed emergency says Brajesh Pathak

Lucknow, Oct 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak today launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP) and its president, Akhilesh Yadav, asserting that the SP has always been opposed to democracy.
He said that today, the same party is conspiring to gain power by aligning with the Congress, the same party that had crushed democracy by imposing the Emergency on the country.
“The Congress, with whom Akhilesh Yadav is now sharing the stage, is the same party that had jailed Jayaprakash Narayan, a protector of democracy. On one hand, they garland his statue, and on the other, they ally with those who imprisoned him; this is sheer political hypocrisy,” Pathak said.
