Stock markets snap two-day losing streak, Sensex Gains Nearly 400 pts

New Delhi, Jun 9 (UNI) Indian stock markets snapped a two-day losing streak and ended higher amid easing geopolitical tensions and moderation in crude oil prices.
At close, the Sensex was up 394.50 points or 0.54 percent at 73,918.76, and the Nifty was up 119.10 points or 0.52 percent at 23,242.10. Nifty midcap index rising 1.3 percent and smallcap index advancing 1.7 percent.
Among the sectors, all other sectoral indices ended in the green, except IT and media. PSU Bank was up 3.6 per cent, Nifty Bank up 2 per cent, Private Bank index up 1.6 per cent and Realty index up 1.6 per cent.
On Nifty, the biggest gainers were Interglobe Aviation, Jio Financial, Eicher Motors, SBI, and Apollo Hospitals. On the losing end were ONGC, Titan Company, NTPC, Power Grid Corp and Tech Mahindra.
Indian rupee ended 36 paise higher at 95.35 per dollar versus the previous close of 95.71.
On the BSE, over 100 stocks touched their 52-week high. These included Cemindia Project, Data Patterns, J&K Bank, Aster DM Health, Syrma SGS, Federal Bank, and Sai Life Sciences, among others.
In the individual stock performers, Rail Vikas Nigam (RVNL) gained 3 percent, NLC India fell 2 percent, InterGlobe Aviation climbed nearly 4 percent, and BlueStone Jewellery share price slipped 1.7 per cent.
Shares of Adani Green Energy Ltd jumped over 3 per cent.
Brent crude futures also cooled down to around $93.3 per barrel. The advance-decline ratio favoured buyers as 2380 stocks gained and 904 fell.
