Strategic Zojila tunnel breakthrough today, Gadkari to attend historic ceremony

Srinagar, June 9 (UNI) The strategically significant Zojila Tunnel project on the Srinagar–Leh highway is about to achieve a major milestone on Tuesday as the excavation work reaches the final breakthrough stage, marking a historic moment in India’s infrastructure development in the Himalayas.
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will attend the breakthrough ceremony at the Zojila Tunnel’s eastern portal, where officials said only around three metres of rock remained before the two ends of the tunnel — from Baltal in Kashmir and Minamarg in Ladakh — finally met.
“India's most challenging infrastructure taking shape in the remote heights of the Himalayas: Zojila Tunnel! Main 'Tunnel Breakthrough' Ceremony: 9 June 2026,” Gadkari posted on X on Monday.

Srinagar, July 22 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch, Kashmir, filed a chargesheet before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, against four persons allegedly involved in a job fraud racket in which unemployed youth were duped on the false promise of securing jobs in the Airports Authority of India (AAI), officials said on Wednesday.

Centre integrates CGHS with Bhavishya portal, retiring employees to get faster pensioner health cards

Panchkula, July 22 (UNI) The Central Government has integrated the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) online system with the Bhavishya portal, enabling retiring Central Government employees to obtain their CGHS Pensioner Cards through a seamless, paperless and technology-driven process. The move is expected to reduce delays and ensure uninterrupted access to CGHS healthcare benefits after retirement.

Railway Board reiterates uniform implementation of healthcare rules for pensioners, UMID card holders

Panchkula, July 22 (UNI) The Railway Board has clarified that railway pensioners, family pensioners, and other eligible beneficiaries holding a valid UMID card should receive treatment in accordance with the existing Railway healthcare policy and has asked all Zonal Railways to ensure uniform implementation of the instructions already issued by the Board.
