Sukhna Lake to get solar-powered double-decker cruise for eco-friendly tourism

Chandigarh, Jun 8 (UNI) In a bid to elevate the tourism experience and promote environmental sustainability, Chandigarh’s iconic Sukhna Lake will soon feature a state-of-the-art, solar-powered double-decker cruise.
Aimed at offering visitors an experience reminiscent of coastal tourism hubs like Goa, the Chandigarh administration has acquired this eco-friendly vessel from a Goa-based maritime company. Operating entirely on clean energy, the new cruise will eliminate the dependency on diesel or petrol, ensuring completely emission-free operations that preserve the pristine ecology of the lake.
With a spacious seating capacity to accommodate nearly 150 passengers, the double-decker cruise is designed with premium consumer comfort and safety parameters in mind. The interiors will be outfitted with plush sofa seating arrangements, high-grade steel safety grills, and a sophisticated LED illumination network. As dusk falls, the radiant lighting system is expected to substantially enhance the nighttime aesthetic of Sukhna Lake while offering tourists an unhindered, panoramic view of the majestic Shivalik mountain ranges during their voyage.
