Sukhu government eager to sell state’s heritage, not just hotels: BJP

Dharamshala, July 15 (UNI) BJP State General Secretary Trilok Kapoor launched a scathing attack on the Himachal Pradesh government, accusing Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of attempting to sell off the state's heritage under the guise of privatizing the tourism infrastructure.
Addressing the media in Dharamshala, Kapoor said the Congress-led government has "drowned" Himachal Pradesh in a debt of Rs 30,000 crore in just two and a half years of misgovernance. Now, he alleged, the government is trying to hand over 14 hotels of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) to private entities, a move the Congress strongly opposes.
"These hotels are not just buildings; many of them are considered heritage by tourists. Selling them off is neither logical nor acceptable," Kapoor said. "If HPTDC has already crossed Rs 100 crore in revenue, how can the government justify labeling these hotels as loss-making?"
