Tamil Nadu: 3 rescued from SUV submerged in water logged subway

Madurai (Tamil Nadu) Oct 13 (UNI) Three people had an incredible escape after a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in which they were travelling submerged on the rainwater logged subway under a steel girder bridge on the Raja Mill Road in Madurai city in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police said the driver of the SUV attempted to pass through the inundated subway, when it was raining heavily and the vehicle got stuck in water and subsequently submerged in the middle of the subway.
Few local youths braving the alarming situation, managed to wade through the water and rescued all the three occupants of the car using ropes.
