Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran visits Solar Industries’ defence plant in Nagpur

Nagpur, Sep 16 (UNI) Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran today visited the Solar Industries defence plant located in Maharashtra's Nagpur.
During the visit, he reviewed Solar’s manufacturing of ammunition, missiles, and other defence products.
Speaking to the media, Chandrasekaran said that defence is a very important domain and that the country needs many players to meet its requirements. He added that all of them must contribute and would collaborate wherever there was an opportunity.
"The whole idea was to visit the facility today and understand what they are doing. There is a lot of need in all parts of the defence sector. If you look ahead, there will be many capabilities in this," he added.
Meanwhile, Solar Industries Chairman Satyanarayan Nuwal said that he could not comment on the future, but the visit was a courtesy call with no fixed agenda.
"Two days ago, we received a call from the Collector informing us that Chandrasekaran wanted to come. It is truly a matter of pride for us. There is a lot of scope in India for defence needs and capabilities, across the entire field,” he added.
