Tejashwi raises serious questions over voter revision process in Bihar

Patna, July 13 (UNI) Concerned with the Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) of the voter list being carried out by the Election Commission in Bihar, Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav questioned the transparency and reliability of the entire exercise as well as the authenticity of the uploaded voter forms.
Flanked by the leaders of the constituent units of the Grand Alliance ( GA), Yadav told news persons here today that the authenticity of the uploaded voter forms was under serious doubt. He said while the Election Commission claims that over 80.11% of voter forms have been filled by July 12, the commission has failed to clarify the number of forms verified, voluntarily submitted, or valid.
Citing information received from various sources, Yadav alleged that government employees responsible for data collection were submitting forms with forged signatures, often without any supporting documents, which raises grave concerns over their authenticity.

Odisha raises DA for State employees to 60 percent

Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI) The Odisha government on Friday enhanced the dearness allowance (DA) for state government employees by two percentage points, raising it from 58 per cent to 60 per cent.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office.

Odisha to begin door-to-door voter verification from May 30

Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI) Odisha will launch a door-to-door voter verification drive from May 30 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls scheduled by the Election Commission of India, state Chief Electoral Officer R S Gopalan said on Friday.
Addressing a press conference here, Gopalan said Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would visit households across the state between May 30 and June 28 for distribution and collection of enumeration forms.
The revision exercise will be conducted with July 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.

Dimapur, May 15 (UNI) Disturbed over the recent killings and abduction of some Naga civilians in some districts of Manipur, the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) Friday said, “No act of hostility can intimidate the Nagas.”
Condemning what it called “outrageous” and “inhuman ambush” on the church leaders of the Thadou Baptist Association between Kotzin and Kotler in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on May 13, it said three church leaders were killed and five others grievously injured in the ambush while they were returning from Churachandpur.
