Telangana: BJP won over 300 sarpanch posts in first phase: Ramchander Rao

Hyderabad, Dec 13 (UNI) Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Saturday said the party won over 300 sarpanch posts in the first phase of the panchayat raj elections held recently, expressing confidence that the party would perform strongly in the remaining phases.
Addressing the media at the BJP state office here, Rao said the party contested the elections on a large scale with active support from its cadre and sympathisers. He said the BJP recorded significant victories in erstwhile districts such as Karimnagar, Adilabad and Medak, besides making notable gains in several other districts.
Rao credited the success to the hard work of party workers and thanked the people for their support. He congratulated BJP-backed candidates who emerged victorious and appealed to voters to continue supporting the party in the second and third phases of the elections.
