Telangana Govt hikes DA for power employees by 1.621 pc; over 70,000 staff to benefit

Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday announced a 1.621 per cent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees, artisans and pensioners of power utilities, benefiting 70,804 personnel.
The DA has been raised from 17.651 per cent to 19.272 per cent with retrospective effect from January 1 this year. The decision, taken during a review meeting with Energy Department officials at Vidyut Soudha, will impose an additional financial burden of about Rs 9.35 crore per month on the government.
Reviewing the power sector's performance, Bhatti commended electricity employees for ensuring uninterrupted supply despite record peak demand of 18,548 MW on March 27 and power consumption touching 341 million units on March 13 this year.

Centre raises Telangana rice procurement target to 43 lakh MT: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad/New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday welcomed the Centre's decision to increase rice procurement from Telangana by an additional 8 lakh metric tonnes, raising the target from 35 lakh metric tonnes to 43 lakh metric tonnes (equivalent to 64 lakh metric tonnes of paddy) for the Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26.
