Telangana Prisons Department Plans ITI at Cherlapalli Jail to Boost Inmate Employability

Hyderabad, June 15 (UNI): In a significant rehabilitation initiative, the Telangana Prisons Department has proposed the establishment of a Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) within the premises of Central Prison, Cherlapalli, aimed at equipping inmates with industry-relevant technical and vocational skills.
The proposed institute seeks to provide job-oriented training to prisoners, enhancing their employability and enabling their smooth reintegration into society after release, the department said in a release here on Monday.
The initiative is expected to promote self-reliance among inmates and help them overcome social stigma and economic challenges.
