Telangana to emerge as India’s ‘aero-engine capital’ by 2030: Minister

Hyderabd, Nov 15 (UNI) Telangana is positioning itself to become India’s ‘aero-engine capital’ by 2030, said Telangana Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu here on Saturday.
Speaking at the ‘Empowering Atmanirbhar Bharat: India’s Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing Summit’ held at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Sridhar Babu said the state government is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to develop a globally competitive aerospace and defence ecosystem in collaboration with leading industries and academic institutions.
He noted that foundational initiatives taken by earlier Congress governments had enabled Telangana to evolve into a strategic defence hub, giving the state an advantage in building an end-to-end ecosystem.

Kerala local body polls phase 2 on Dec 11 for 12,391 wards 1

Kozhikode, Dec 10 (UNI) The second phase of the Kerala local body elections will be conducted on December 11, with voting scheduled from 7 am to 6 pm across seven northern and central districts: Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod.
A total of 604 local bodies, including 470 grama panchayats, 77 block panchayats, 7 district panchayats, 47 municipalities, and 3 municipal corporations, will go to the polls. Voters will elect representatives in 12,391 wards, spanning panchayats, municipalities, and corporations.

Goondas Battalion to celebrate 250 years of service, valour on Dec 13

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 10 (UNI) The historic 2nd Battalion of The Madras Regiment, proudly known as the “Goondas Battalion,” will celebrate its 250th Raising Day at the Pangode Military Station here on December 13.

Kerala local body polls: Governor, union Minister, top leaders lead early voter turnout

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 9 (UNI) Kerala witnessed a vibrant start to the first phase of its local body elections today, with prominent political, religious, and community leaders setting the tone by casting their votes early.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar exercised his franchise at Jawahar Nagar LP School at 11 am, while union Minister Suresh Gopi was among the earliest voters, casting his ballot at Shasthamkotta Government School at 7 am.
