Thanks to LP area, NE monsoon active in TN, another system to form over Bay on Nov 22 to bring more rains

Chennai, Nov 18 (UNI) Met office today said several parts of Tamil Nadu especially Cauvery delta and Northern districts received good rains as the Northeast Monsoon has become active over Tamil Nadu, thanks to the present Low Pressure Area over the Bay, even as a fresh system will form on November 22 promising more rains in the coming days.
In an update, Met Office said rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal area as yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka now lies over Comorin area and neighbourhood and the associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 5.6 km above mean sea level.
It is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards during next 24 hours.

Visakhapatnam Spying case: NIA Court awards sentence to two more accused

New Delhi December 15(UNI): A special NIA court awarded five years eleven months and fifteen days sentence to two more accused in the Pakistan-linked Visakhapatnam Navy spying case. This takes the total number of convictions in the case so far to 10. Trial is continuing against the remaining five accused arrested by NIA in the case.
