Three die in explosion in firecracker factory in Saharanpur

Saharanpur (UP), Apr 25 (UNI) Three workers were killed following an explosion in a licensed firecracker factory in Deoband area of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the factory was operating in the name of Eagle Fire Works at Jaroda Jatt village, which was run by three persons including Nafees, built on the land of Ankit Rana, a resident of Lalwala village.
Police said that the incident occurred on Saturday morning when some workers were preparing a mixture of firecracker making material for firecrackers in the factory.

Dharamshala, Jun 17 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said the government was taking decisive steps to strengthen the state's economy and protect its interests. He noted that sustained efforts had paved the way for implementation of the 422 MW Kishau Dam Project, with the union Government agreeing in principle that beneficiary states would bear nearly Rs 2,000 crore towards Himachal Pradesh's power component, significantly reducing the state's financial burden.
