Three women killed, 7 hurt in explosion at cracker unit, TN CM announces solatium

Virudhunagar (Tamil Nadu), Apr 26 (UNI) In a gruesome tragedy, three women workers were charred to death and seven women injured, two of them critically, when a massive explosion ripped through a private fireworks factory at M.Pudupatti village near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday.
Police said the deceased were identified as M.Mariammal (51), R.Thiruvaimozhi (48) and V.Kalaiselvi (35).
The fire broke out at Standard Fireworks Factory, a reputed cracker unit when the workers were engaged in mixing highly inflammable chemicals for making a fancy variety of crackers.
