Thummala slams BRS over farm loan waiver, praises Congress Govt’s farmer welfare measures

Hanamkonda, May 7 (UNI) Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had accomplished within two years several tasks that the BRS government failed to complete during its decade-long rule.
Addressing the media after attending the closing ceremony of the state-level ‘Rythu Mela’ held at the Arts and Science College in Hanamkonda, Thummala said the Congress government implemented a farm loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh per farmer within its very first year in office, benefiting nearly 25 lakh farmers across the state.
The minister alleged that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao failed to fully implement the promised Rs 1 lakh farm loan waiver during the BRS government’s ten-year tenure.
