Tourist and pilgrim influx resulted in traffic jam in Kangra town

Kangra, June 9 (UNI) Hundreds of vehicles got stranded on Gupt Ganga Road, Tanda Medical College Road and Jogipur road in Kangra town on Monday following the rush of large numbers of tourist and pilgrim vehicles in the town.
The traffic jam on these roads left life out of gear, so much so that even the patients heading towards Tanda Medical College were also stuck in the jam.
As no police personnel were in sight anywhere, the jam left the pilgrims and tourists coming from different parts of the country, besides local people, in a lurch.

Amritsar Police bust cross-border drug and arms trafficking network, four held

Chandigarh, July 18 (UNI) The Amritsar Commissionerate Police has dismantled an alleged cross-border drug and illegal arms trafficking network, arresting four suspected smugglers and recovering 5.557 kilograms of heroin along with two pistols in a major operation, Punjab Police said on Saturday.
