TRS will fight for Singareni workers' rights, says Kavitha at Srirampur mine visit

Mancherial (Telangana), June 16 (UNI) Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) President Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Tuesday alleged widespread neglect of Singareni workers and vowed to fight for their rights, while participating in the "Singareni Baayi Baata" outreach programme at the Srirampur RK-7 mine in Mancherial district.
Addressing workers, Kavitha said TRS had emerged as a new political force in Telangana and sought the support of Singareni employees. She expressed concern over the lack of basic amenities, safety measures, drinking water, ventilation and adequate facilities for women employees in the coal mines, terming the situation a violation of human rights.
Accusing the Singareni management of continuing to use outdated technology, she said workers were often forced to repair and maintain machinery themselves while funds were readily available for contractors. She also alleged irregularities in dependent employment, delays in medical board clearances and inadequate welfare measures for workers' families.
